Three good ones in a row.

Well I will not put a lot of time into this but I definitely need to say some things. We have played very well in three straight tournaments. The first tournament at Monkey Mountain was not a big tournament but featured some very solid teams with the Naturals, The Landing and the Regulators from Sedalia. The day started out with us playing a very solid game and at the same time catching The Landing at a good time as they had a very slow start to their day. We ended our day on a positive note beating the Regulators in the championship game avenging our only loss earlier in the day.

The next weekend was our NIT in St. Louis. It was a very long day as we decided the best road to the championship was to get in the losers bracket as early as possible losing to the Wild Hogs out of Illinois. Then with great defense and timely hitting we rolled through the losers bracket winning 3 straight to get an evenutal rematch with the Wild Hogs in the championship game. After blowing out the Wild Hogs in the championship game, adversity hit in the if game. Traveling out of town with only 10 players is never a good thing, and it is especially bad when you have to play all day in the losers bracket and then in the if game you lose a player to ejection. Playing with 9 however, we played as a team and kept our defense solid and even took a lead into the 6th. But, in my eyes, fatigue began setting in and everyone was a little slower and we just didnt have enough in the end. Would love to play that over with 11 guys, but obviously what is done is done. Still a very solid tournament against some very solid teams.

This weekend we played in a World Series Money Qualifier in Blue Springs which was a E, D and C mixed equalizer tournament. In this tournament we ended up with a 2nd place finish beating an E team and a D team. Our last 3 games were against C teams and I must say both of our losses came to Hooters/Miken and watching them hit was impressive. When we played our 5 man they gapped our outfielders and when we moved to 4 outfielders they pounded middle against us. They are a very solid team and most of their guys were pretty cool. The C team that we won against, actually beat us straight up but because of the equalizer we won 10-9. That team was not as cool as many of them complained before the first pitch even about having to give runs to an E team in a money tournament. I am sure none of them will ever read this and I will never put down the team name, but they know who they are and would be nice to show a little class sometime.

Overall, everything so far has gone very well for us. Finally, the team that I feel like even during a little adversity stays together, is positive and does play with class. I appreciate all of you guys and look forward to seeing you all every weekend. See you next weekend in Grain Valley.
